About the Java Contactor

The Java Contactor (v) 4.0 manages contact lists on any computer that has Java version 1.4.2 or higher. It is a commercial application. Please see the "Buy" page for current pricing.

The downloadable version of the Java Contactor easily supports up to 25,000 contacts. For versions supporting up to 10 million contacts, please contact Smiling Dog Applications consulting. The minimum machine configuration requires 128 Megabytes of available RAM and 10 Megabytes disk space.

Microsoft Windows

Microsoft Windows (Installer file [2.2 MByte]) - Download the executable and follow the installation wizard to install the Java Contactor.

Mac OSX

Mac OSX (Disk image installer [10.0 MByte]) - Download the disk image and it will automatically open and mount in the finder. For your convenience, drag the Java Contactor 4.0 folder onto the Applications link in the disk image. This will copy the Java Contactor 4.0 to your Applications folder. Double-click the Java Contactor 4.0 application inside the folder to launch.

UNIX distribution

UNIX (tar.gz package [1.8 MByte] - Download the tar.gz package and uninstall the application using the command

gzip -d < JavaContactor3.0.tar.gz | tar -xf -

Read the README.txt and install the application by running the install.sh shell script. Run the Java Contactor by running the JavaContactor.sh file that is created in the installation.
